FABRICATION
SUPERVISOR – MACHINE SHOP
LOCATION –
NEWPORT NEWS, VA
Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs, coordinates and oversees daily
activities and resources necessary for maintaining and operating the
machine shop, planning and programming departments
- Assigns work to meet program schedules
- Assists with solving problems
- Ensures compliance to safety standards
- Maintains high standards of performance,
workmanship and schedule adherence
- Ensures established shop procedures and company
policies are adhered to
- Conducts annual performance evaluations for team
- Maintains the machine load as established
- Implements continuous improvements through the use
of LEAN procedures and tools
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing
operations
- Apprenticeship or 2 year technical degree
preferred
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of
machining, including interpreting blueprints, precision measuring and
tools, machine setups, and programming
- Experience with LEAN procedures and tools desired
- Ability to work in
a budget & schedule driven fast-paced environment

prototype aerospace test hardware including gas turbine engine test
rigs, aerodynamic models, and aircraft & marine subsystems
- Defines engineering
requirements (including materials, interfaces, fits, tolerances,
treatments, instrumentation & assembly procedures)
- Performs stress &
thermal hand calculations
Requirements:
- 3-6 years of hands
on experience with development, instrumentation and test experience at
OEM or supplier
- BSME or BSAE
- Solid grasp of
engineering fundamentals
- UG experience (or
similar CAD system)
- Experience
designing and testing prototype systems
- Ability to work in
a budget & schedule driven fast-paced environment
- US Citizen

- Performs stress &
thermal hand calculations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years
development, instrumentation and test experience
- BSME or BSAE
- Demonstrated
progression of hands-on responsibility from components to system level
- Solid grasp of
engineering fundamentals
- Proficient in UG
(or similar CAD system)
- Experience leading
a technical team to drive solutions
- Experience
designing and testing prototype systems
- Ability to work in
a budget & schedule driven fast-paced environment
