Bearing Test Rig

Designed to run on liquid nitrogen at extremely elevated pressures, our rig has achieved stable operation with only shop air supply. This is a testament to the robustness of the design. 

Speeds:

Up to 86,000 rpm using helium (and solid shaft)

Option to use electric motor if desired

Temperatures:

Cryogenic (Liquid Helium) to limits of AMS 5664 (Inco 718 – approximately 1,200º F)

Internal Loads: to 5,000 psia

External Loads:

Static – Up to 3,000 lbf in X, Y, or both X & Y

simultaneously using pneumatic actuators

Dynamic – 1,000 lbf in X, Y, or both X & Y at frequencies

up to 1,000 Hz with optional hydraulic shaker unit

Propellants:

Compatible with air, oxygen, hydrogen, helium, water, refrigerants, etc.
